By Dion Kombeng – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

Day 5 of the National Game fishing titles saw the anglers compete in a shoot-out early this morning.

Yesterday, Day 4, in the boat points ‘The Hooker II’ took a big lead in the weighed category, followed by ‘Osprey’ and ‘Sanaamay’. And in the Tagged category, ‘madNESS’ has a commanding lead followed by ‘The Hooker II’ and closely behind is ‘Saanamay’.

In the Anglers points, Craig Armstrong is well in front of everyone else leading in the weighed category, followed by Rob Hewlett, then Rob Batterham.

The National Game Fishing Titles attract serious anglers from near and afar, vying to be named the 2015 champion. Among them are youngsters, Delvin Laing and Adam Cheah in team Chow Mee, who love the sport of game fishing. Laing is no stranger to the competition, with his team winning the National Titles before.

The National Titles will head into its leg, over the Easter long weekend, which will see the number of anglers increase in the days ahead, before the competition comes to a close on Sunday evening.

“Day 4 of the Titles yesterday (Tuesday) and a definite highlight was the spirited bidding in the Calcutta as punters placed their bets on which of the 8 competing boats would bring home the highest score in today’s Shootout.
