Ballot Boxes in AROB Arrive in main Centers

The Australian Defence Force aircraft has airlifted the spare ballot papers to complement the shortage if there was any, in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

Acting Election Manager, Desmond Timiyaso told EMTV News the spare ballot papers arrived in the region on Saturday and they will return to polls again starting Monday 3rd of July, to capture eligible voters who missed out when supplementary rolls were not used.

The re-polling to polling stations were the supplementary rolls were not used will run for three day, which Timiyaso anticipates to be completed by Wednesday.

In the meantime, ballot boxes have arrived to main centres in Buka, Arawa and Buin, after polling has been completed in most areas.

“I than all polling officials for successfully completing the first week,” he said.

Counting for North and Central and the Bougainville regional will be conducted in Buka except for South Bougainville in Buin.

Timiyaso said such information concerning national elections must at all times be made public to maintain transparency on all accountable forms and materials used.
