Big wins in women’s football

The Port Moresby Soccer Association saw big wins in the Women’s division.

As members of the PNG Men’s National Football team began assembling in Port Moresby for their training camp ahead of world cup qualification, eyes were on the women’s division as it was goals galore on a burning Sunday pitch.

University FC, who again featured a number of PNG Netball internationals, continued their winning form early in the season, this time with a 3 – win over a feisty PS side.

There were better performances this time around by the uni women, who had an additional player, Jeperth Tulapi, among other netballers in their ranks.

In the other women’s matches, PNG Under 20 Women’s World cup players, Lavina Hola, Gloria Leali and Joyce Tsuga, led Mungkas FC in a 6 humbling of Yamaros, using the Mercy rule in football, the match ended before schedule – Mungkas ecstatic with the win.
