BSP Launches School Cricket Program

BSP launched its school cricket program at the Demonstration Primary School.

The program was specifically to target and engage young people across the country in the school cricket program.

Demonstration primary school welcomed the BSP team of representative to launch the 2014 school cricket program. Attending the launching were both students and staff of Demonstration primary school.

Games Development Manager, Gayan Loku said the program aims to reach 150,000 children through cricket around PNG.

He said last year a record breaking 171,500 children took part in 297 schools across the nation and is overwhelmed by their achievement.

He says running such programs like this will change lives as well as the wellbeing for our young people, giving them the chance to represent their country both nationally and internationally in the near future.

Loku also mentioned having supported the PNG Garamuts and Hebou PNG Barramundis Cricket teams; our young people will be able to carry on the legacy in representing the country by going through programs like the school cricket program.

BSP donated cricket material to the School after the official opening of the 2014 school cricket program. With the commitment shown through the program, 2014 looks very promising for the development of Cricket PNG.
