Busu Secondary Farewells Former School Principal

Students and staff of Busu Secondary School in colors green and white, farewelled their former Principal Betong Bega and his wife Munangke Bega on Wednesday.

Betong Bega began his teaching career in 1974. Bega was transferred to Busu High school then, in 1992 from Bugandi Secondary school, and retired in 2011.

Under Bega’s administration, Busu, the than high School was brought up to a Secondary School.

George Noble, the current principle for Busu Secondary, together with his students and staff, organised a reception, fare-welling Bega and his family.

Gifts, local fresh food and cash money were given to Mr and Mrs Bega, as a token of appreciation for their long service to the school.

Noble together with the Lae Secondary principle Chris Raymond and Tony Gau, Bugandi Secondary principle, acknowledged Bega with a salute as a former Chairman for Principals in Morobe Province

The farewell ended with emotional greetings by Mr and Mrs Bega, the students and the staff of the school.

Mr. Bega said he has confidence in the school and believes the school will prosper only under proper management of the administration.

During his service at Busu, he has laid the foundation of Busu Secondary by bringing the school status from High School to Secondary School, upgrade infrastructure development and initiated the peace process in 2008, ‘One Busu, No Grouping’, which created a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
