Minister for Community Development, Soroe Eoi, took the opportunity whilst attending the Law and Order Summit, to visit the Buimo Prison and the Angau Children’s Ward on Friday.
This gave representatives in both organizations, a chance to address their challenges and needs.
Accompanied by the CS Commissioner, Michael Waipo, and Community Development Secretary, Anna Solomon, the delegation were greeted with a warm welcome by female inmates at the Buimo prison.
Mr. Eoi said the department tasked the Buimo Commander to highlight issues faced by women and children in the prison, for them to assist with.
Mr. Eoi also visited the children’s ward at the Angau General Memorial Hospital saying the department is willing to work closely with the hospital.
