Cost Effective Audio Conferencing

By Meleasie Goviro – EMTV News, Port Moresby

After more than a decade of global negotiations and technical hurdles, bmobile Vodafone has launched a new and convenient audio conferencing service here in Papua New Guinea.

Group CEO, Sundar Ramamurthy, said this will allow corporate bodies to participate in international audio conferences, charged at local rates.

Up until now business owners in PNG could only join audio conferences of this nature by dialing an international number.

“We have now developed a solution whereby business in PNG will be able to initiate an audio conference with anyone in over 90 countries. Every participant in each of these countries can dial a local number and in PNG Corporate customers can dial a local PNG number,” Ramamurthy said.

The CEO added that corporate bodies within PNG can now save up to 40 per cent on costs for audio conferencing.

“We have leveraged off the global Vodafone network to all our customers in PNG to save money when participating in a conference call.”
