FIFA President Commends PNG on Women’s U20 World Cup

Papua New Guinea has been at the receiving end of doubts, prior to hosting the U20 Women’s World Cup. And now, after its successful hosting, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, just recently commended PNG, as relayed by OFC President David Chung.

This was when both men were in Japan attending a match between Real Madrid and Club America at Yokohama Stadium.

The Stadium came alight with the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup 2016 theme song as videos of Japan’s U20 Women’s Team were seen on the stadium screens, visiting the fan zone here in PNG during the U20 Women’s World Cup.

A pleased Chung said PNG has proven critics wrong.

This year was a great year for football in PNG and the sporting fraternity in the country as well.
