FIFA World Cup Updates

The United States almost created another upset, leading against Portugal in the Group G encounter, before a last-gasp goal levelled the scores, two-all.

Today’s day 11 matches saw Belgium narrowly beat Russia one-nil, and Algeria thrash the Korean Republic, four-two.

Brazil has been largely tipped to beat a Cameroon team in disarray and lead Group A, with Mexico and Croatia to battle for second spot.

The Netherlands and Chile will easily top Group B, although both will want to avoid second place and the prospect of meeting Brazil.

Colombia are comfortable winners of Group C, with a draw remaining to fully secure it; however, a win for bottom-placed Japan and Greece could see one of them, and not the Ivory Coast, advance.

Three former World Cup winners sit behind Costa Rica, who have surprised many. Italy need a win to stay in the competition.

France are finding new form after big wins in their first two games, the 1998 Champions dominate, Ecuador close behind with a better goal difference over Switzerland.

Germany has been in devastating form and, along with the United States, only need to draw against each other to advance.

Belgium has topped the easiest Group in the World Cup, although Algeria has been very impressive so far.
