Floriculture Show

There were a lot of flower power atthe 5th NCD Flower Show with florists from aroundthe country showcasingtheir various flowers and flower arrangements.

The purpose ofthe show is to establish networking and share ideas on floriculture. The show was officially launched on Wednesday.

The floriculture industry is one ofthe fastest growing industries inthe world and here in Papua New Guineait is starting to blossom.

It is shows like this that allows local flower growers and farmers to tap into this growing industry.

Global figures indicate that floriculture can fetch up US$101 billion. Director of IPA Ivan Pomaleu commendedthe Papua New GuineaCut Flower Association for empowering local flower growers.

Withthetheme “Grow Local and sell Global” it is anticipatedthe floriculture industry in PNG would make its mark inthe international scene.

President oPNG Cut Flower Association Mary Saun echoedthe sentiments of not being able to findthe right market for flower farmers.

Despitethe challenges local flower growers are delighted to be educated aboutthe potentialthere is in floriculture.

The show will end on Friday andthe public are urged to come out and supportthe floriculture industry.
