Hot Spot Episode – 13, 2014

In this episode:

With the inclusion of Nosaina Pokana and the recall of Kila Pala and John Reva in the Barramundis team, the Barramundis wrapped up the 17-day tour to Sri Lanka with success.

Barras struggled to find good combinations in both bat and bowl in the first two matches. Assad Vala was outstanding with the bat, collecting a century to hand the Barras their second win on tour.

Ben Drew, AFL’s Asia-Pacific Development Officer, was in the country and said the development of AFL in the country is healthy. We also caught up with two shy and composed members of the U-16 Binatangs team, Alphonse Walten and Jeremiah Saupaii from New Ireland Province, whose AFL prospects are looking great. The Binatangs have departed to defend the Pacific Cup in Coff’s Harbour.

In Rugby League, we catch up with Cathy Neap, Game Development Officer for League Bilong Laif.

Still on Rugby League, leading up to the launch of the Digicel Cup 2014, the Prima Gulf Isapea was proud to be the first club to welcome 4 new faces from Fiji to the team. The 4 Fijian giants will boost the forward and utility pack come their first match on the weekend.
