Independence Day special: EMTV Online takes it to the streets

We asked folks in Lae their birthday wish for the country/their community in the lead up to 41st  Independence day celebrations; and this is what they said.

Ruth Billy, a homemaker from Bukawa in the Morobe Province says she likes to see more Police presence in her home suburb of Ten Mile, Lae. She laments that usually well organized Independence events are spoilt by rowdy drunks who consume homebrew and other alcoholic drinks. Her concern is that alcoholism is making neighbourhoods unsafe for women and the greater part of the community in completing daily tasks. Community vigilance is key to keeping communities safe.
