Kerowagi District will soon realize its dreams of establishing a township.

MP Bari Palma says feasibility studies have been conducted with the help of other stakeholders, including the officers from the Urbanization Office.

Palma says the aim of the District Administration, is to create economic opportunities for people, by mapping and planning Government infrastructure in key areas.

“ We want to build a better foundation for the people of Kerowagi and Simbu Province”, said MP Palma.

The visit by officers from the urbanization Office brings that step closer has zoning has commenced for the establishment of Government utilities. The move follows the Provincial Plan to relocate the Simbu airport to Kerowagi.

With Kerowagi located along the national highway, MP Bari Palma, believes there are economic opportunities for the people. The Office of Urbanization believes proper planning and consultation is the way forward.

Director Max Kep says in a long run, the plan will cater for future developments by the District.

“I encourage other Districts who wish to follow the similar trend by consulting responsible  State agencies”, said Mr. Kep.
