Kokoda 4 Kidneys

Kokoda 4 Kidneys (K4K) is a fundraising trek of the world-famous Kokoda Track for the Roger Hau’ofa Medical Appeal.

Hau-ofa was diagnosed with kidney failure in October 2015 and has been undergoing regular dialysis sessions overseas.

The medical fundraiser for the radio legend has seen outstanding results. Spearheaded by Michelle Hau’Ofa, K4K has thus far raised a total of K120,000.

While the main aim of K4K is to raise funds for the medical appeal, it is also raising awareness on kidney disease and the importance of a healthy lifestyle in a supportive environment.

Miss Hau’Ofa also acknowledged the generosity of individuals, families and companies who have collectively donated the funds.

Major sponsors include Enga’s Children’s Trust Fund, Hebou Constructions, Kitoro No.33 and Mineral Resources Development Company.

The final list for the inaugural K4K 2016 is at 11 trekkers, including two from Fiji.

The team set off on Saturday and are optimistic about returning on Remembrance Day

K4K is hoping to make this an annual event.
