Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited Supports Team PNG

The sponsorship of K1 million from Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited is in support of Team Papua New Guinea’s participation in the Pacific Mini Games in Port Vila, Vanuatu, and next year’s Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

President of PNG Olympic Committee, Sir John Dawanicura, said athletes’ levy fees to both international events will no longer exist as the support will cover all costs.

Sir John thanked Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited for their continued support towards sport and other community initiatives in the country.

KPH Managing Director, Wapu Sonk, wished Team PNG athletes at both events to give their best performances, and to fly the PNG colours with pride.

Half of the sponsorship will go towards the PNG contingent travelling to Vanuatu for the Pacific Mini Games which will be held from 4th to 15th of November in Port Vila.

It is now days to the Pacific Mini Games, and approximately four months to the Commonwealth Games, athletes who are ready to hit Australia in April for the Commonwealth Games, will also be subsidised under the Kumul Petroleum Holdings sponsorship.

Some of the athletes participating in the Pacific Mini Games will also be part of the 2018 Commonwealth Games National Team.
