Lack Of Facilities At Ageaviru Health Centre Increases Problems

Concerns have been raised over the poor conditions of aid posts in the Ageaviru catchment area.

This has strained operations at the Ageaviru Health Centre, which has limited medical supplies and equipment to provide quality patient care.

Ageaviru Health Centre in the Kairuku District may have recently been renovated. It however requires adequate medical supplies and equipment to attend to its patients.

Limited resources available at the health centre cannot provide effective patient care.

Electricity is a problem and water has to be sourced at the high cost of K8, 000 per month from business houses in the area.

The situation is made worse with the closure of aid posts. The health centre is prioritising its attention mostly on pregnant mothers and their babies.

Previously, mothers had difficulty delivering, resulting in high levels of maternal deaths. However, the figures have been reduced and the health centre is hoping to maintain that.

A full report on the status of the aid posts in the area has been complete and will be presented to the provincial health authorities to address this concern.
