Man Arrested for Trying to Vote the Second time

Madang police arrested a 24-year-old man from Morobe this afternoon after he tried to vote the second time.

The suspect identified as Nare Sulung resides at Humade Finschaffen block. He is a scrutineer for Nixon Duban.

Sulung was trying to cast his vote for the second time when he was caught.

The public identified him and advised the police. Sulung was standing on the line ready to dip his fingers inside the paint container before receiving the ballot papers from the Presiding officer to cast his vote, for the second time.

However, he was caught.

The Investigative Taskforce team is now preparing his charges. Formal charges will be laid soon.

He is now detained at the Jomba Police station cell.

This incident is one of several incidents where voters have voted multiply times.

Another woman was also arrested for double voting and is also now at the Jomba police station cell.
