Mautana Community Wants Services

Residents at Mautana in Port Moresby’s North West want services if they are to cast their votes this time around.

They said water has been a problem and not a single leader has addressed this.

They pleaded for recognition following a visit by NCD Regional Candidate, James Melegepa.

It has been an uphill battle for this Community who voted in the 2012 National Elections, but there are no signs of Government services reaching them.

For this Community, the visit by NCD Regional Candidate James Melegepa comes with no promises, but hope for new leadership and better services.

Local leaders aired that if past leaders have neglected them, they hope new leaders will not do the same.

Melegepa spoke of the rise in settlements, and how he plans to address this issue.

As a former Secretary of Defense he says the system of Government has failed the people, especially those in the City.

Melegepa is an Independent candidate, and is contesting for the third and last time.
