Mini Games: Athletics Team Brings Home 10 Gold

ThPNG Athletics team almost made a clean sweep ofthe relay events atthe 9th Mini Pacific Games by bringing in a total of 10 gold, five silver and two bronze medals.

 

 

The men’s 4X100m, saw Kupun Wisil leaPNG coming in first to clinch gold in a time of 41.7s after Team Fiji was disqualiflied, despite havingtheir anchor and fastest man inthe Pacific, Benuve Tabakaucoro, cruised overthe line first.

 

PNG pushed Fiji inthe men’s 4X400m race and managed to claimthe silver medal. Tabakaucoro was inthe Fijian team that won’that event.

 

Sapulai Yao won silver inthe half marathon, while team mate Kasper Simbai finished fourth. 

 

Beino,the Oceania champion wonthe top medal in his favourite 400m hurdles and managed to grab anther inthe 110m hurdles.

 

Raymond Koniel followed Beino not too far behind inthe 400m hurdles and collectedthe bronze.
