More Public Housing Questions raised in Parliament

More questions being asked about public housing in parliament. Governor for NCD spoke more specifically about housing for nurses.

He quizzed health minister Michael Malabag onthe status of 18 units in Gerehu.

Governor Parkop asked several background questions including whtherthe contractor was paid a lump sum in advance.

He wantsthe task force sweep team to investigate all parties involved including National Housing Commission.

Health Minister Michael Malabag confirmedthe 18 units are for nurses. Valued at K3.84 million atthe time in 2008, NHC has yet to pay outstanding amounts to contractors.

Housing minister Paul Isikiel confirmedthe delay is due to non-payment to contractors by NHC.

ThPNG Nurses association paid over K3 million and signed a Memorandum of Agreement with NHC to constructthe houses.
