Executives of long time rugby league franchise commonly known asthe SBeL Mendi Muruks are surprised withthe decision bythPNGNRL to exclude Mendi Muruks inthe semi-professional rugby league competition this season.

Parton ofthe Mendi Muruks Major Michael Percy-Marai has brokenthe silence on whythe Muruks didn’trsquo;t registertheir interest to participate earlier.

He saysthe main man behindthe Muruks, Tom Higgins has been out ofthe country and isthe point of contact for the franchise.

Betthere is promising news, as local MP’sfromthe province led by Sthern Highlands Governor William Powi have vowed to backthe Muruks up in terms of sponsorship.

Parton ofthe club Major Percy Marai has put to rest allthe talk ofthe Medni Muruks missing out onthe 2013 Digicel Cup season and rest assuredthe pride ofthe Southern Highlands will still stand tall come next month whenthe Digicel cup kicks off in Port Moresby.
