National Disaster Office To Improve Kadovar Disaster Response

An Emergency Response Operations centre (ERO) will be set up in Wewak to co-ordinate more effectively the disaster response on Kadovar.

Also a submission will be presented to NEC for the release of disaster funds for the relief and relocation process.

The submission will be made to NEC next where a K4million will be used for the resettlement process of over 2000 displaced Kadovar Islanders.

The National Disaster Office will also send a team to set up a proper response which Director Martin Mose explained will improve the disaster response and resettlement process.

NGO’s and other organisations like the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and Oxfam have also come on board in the relief efforts.
