National Soccer League Round 2 kicks off

Round 2 of the National Soccer League got underway in Lae, Madang and Port Moresby today.

The match here in Port Moresby saw Momase FC take on Besta FC on an overcast day at the Bisini grounds this afternoon.

Today just wasn’t Momase FC’s day.

Despite their strong on-field presence, it was the Besta FC who made sure every attack counted.

Besta made their intentions known early, scoring a goal in the opening minutes.

Momase replied towards the end of first half, leveling the score one all.

Despite attacks from Momase, Besta defended their third well.

A miscalculation from Momase defenders saw Besta’s Emmanuel Sinogi netted the second goal, mid-second half.

Efforts by Momase to level the score kept flying over the goal post.

It was in the final minute, when Besta again scored through Jonathan Allan.

Besta were the victors with 3 points to 1.
