Nepalese quietly leave PNG

The 13 Nepalese deportees eventually leftthe country quietly even tothe point of requestingtheir last contacts here not to alertthe media.

Their last stay was atthe Beroko Guest House inthe Nation’s Capital.

The staff andthe Nepalese community in Port Moresby confirmed thatthe 13 men leftthe premises quietly.

The men were lured tPNG withthe promise of work and a better life. Bettheir entry documents were found to be falsiflied.

They were arrested on arrival and had been in custody untiltheir deportation.

Meantime, boththe Foreign Affairs and Labour departments have kept quiet aboutthe human smuggling racket in PNG

 

Illegal Immigrants Arrested in Morobe

Meanwhile in Morobe province,the Immigration taskforce has arrestedthe wife of a Beangladesh human smuggling kingpin in Belolo.

The Taskforce arrested, Begum Fatama, who was operating a trade store in Belolo. 

Her husband, Hossain Jakaria, is still onthe run afterthe taskforce busted part of his human smuggling ring several weeks ago in Hanuabada village, Central Province.

 Another Beangladesh was arrested early Saturday morning after he trlied to escape on PMV to Lae.

Two ther arrests were made inthe Mumeng-Belolo area.  Two Chinese nationals were arrested in Leklu village without passports, work permits or visas.

The Belolo community has praisedthe work ofthe team.
