New Plane for Air Nuigini

Air Niugini this afternoon welcomed its new Dash 8 aircraft. The aircraft underthPNG registration P2-PXL was flown from North Bey, Ontario, Canada to Port Moresby.

Present to withnessthe arrival ofthe Dash 8-315 series wasthe Acting Air Niugini Chief Executive Officer Simon Foo, his departmental heads and staff. Mr. Foo said,the additional aircraft will improver service delivery and on-time performance ofthe domestic sector.

He saidthe aircraft will also give Air Niugini an opportunity to tap intothe mining charter services.

The aircraft has a 50 seat capacity, unlikethe Dash 8 200 series with 37seats.

This now brings to total twenty eight aircraft in Air Niugini’s aircraft fleet.

Air Niugini currently operates to 25 domestic ports and 10 international destinations.

Mr. Foo acknowledged his predecessor Wasantha Kumarasiri in successfully negotiating and arranging for the additional aircraft. It will assist in schedule reliability and redundancy.
