One Critically Injured while Two Others Injured after Poreporena Freeway Accident

Three people are injured while one is believe to be in a critical condition after a car accident on the Poreporena freeway today.

Police were on the scene to start investigations and talk to eyewitnesses, as the crash adds to one of many accidents that has occurred on this particular Hohola section of the freeway.

It was peak hour, with cars lined up to go home.

The accident involving more than five people, three of them critically injured.

Onlookers say the drivers condition is very serious, while witnesses on the scene say the vehicles collided when the driver of a Toyota Hilux lost control of his vehicle after his tyres burst.

The damage on the Hilux suggests the extent of the collision and the potentially serious injuries of the driver and passengers.

The other Nissan Ute was badly damaged, but the driver and passengers were relatively okay, and still in shock.

This section of the freeway is notorious, with residents living along Hohola witnessing crashes frequently.

The statistics are high and this afternoon police were quickly called onto the scene to control traffic during the peak hour.
