NRL Focuses on Improving Queensland Stadium Facilities

Improving stadium facilities in Brisbane and Townsville has taken precedence in the National Rugby League’s agenda.

Following talks over the New South Wales Government’s $1 billion plus stadium plan, NRL executives have also turned their attention to establishing funding for technology upgrades to Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium and the construction of the proposed CBD Stadium in Townsville.

Queensland Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk, pledged a whopping $100 million towards the CBD Stadium; however the funding delays have resulted in the NRL and North Queensland Cowboys club being in regular talks with all levels of government to push forward plans for the stadium.

The NRL is also working closely with the Brisbane Broncos and Queensland Rugby League to secure the necessary funds to implement planned upgrades to Suncorp; their priorities being technology such as free public Wi-Fi and new screens.

According to a spokesperson from the NRL, they are adamant on bringing world class facilities to fans.
