By Stacy Yalo – EMTV News, Port Moresby

Police are working on arresting a known officer who physically assaulted his former partner, a police woman, on the 25th of last month.

NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Perou N’Dranou, said police officers are working on the suspects report and they will effect the arrest once all background checks are completed.

Met Sup D’Dranou told EMTV today that it is not the first time the suspect has been reported, and the matter will not be taken lightly.

The victim, Josie Kikoli, is still recovering from her wounds on her head and her face, and has reported the matter to Police. It is not known yet, what object was used to attack her, but she received about 7 stitches on her head. Josie told EMTV that she had left her partner because he was abusive and violent. The suspect has been threatening to shoot her for a while until he attacked her at her home at Morata Barracks.
