PPL Enterprise Agreement with Union Workers

By Merilyn Diau-Katam – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The PNG Energy Workers Union and Public Employees Association gathered to witness the signing between PNG Power Ltd, and the Unions.

The 2015 Enterprise Agreement, which will supersede the 2012 Enterprise Agreement, was signed today at the PNG Power Ltd Training College.

The incorporation of the agreement was based on ensuring that employees sustain their individual needs, and at the same time, deliver on their respective roles. The contract is renewed every three years.

The two highlights of the enterprise agreement are the increase on allowances, and an improvement on rollout of company policies.

The procedure of writing the agreement has not been an easy task but they managed to come to an agreement that will benefit everyone.

PPL General Manger of Human Resources, Edmund Lancaster said “The agreement will see employees return to work to offer reliable services to customers.”
