Revenue Drop Projected for 2016

by Meriba Tulo – EM TV News, Port Moresby

Treasurer Patrick Pruaitch says revenue received by the National Government will be reduced in 2016.

Despite this projected fall in revenue, the government remains optimistic that it successfully achieves its priorities in the coming year.

According to the national budget presentenced today, total revenue in 2016 is projected at K12.179 Billion – K292 million lower than the revised estimate for this year.

And whilst his announcement of reduced revenue did not surprise those present, the Treasurer remained optimistic, saying the onus was now on the implementing agencies to be stringent in their spending to ensure the government’s plans were realised.
