Public Employees Association Induction Program

Newly elected Executives of the Public Employees Association met in Port Moresby this week for an induction program.

According to PEA President, Robert Kutupai, this is part of the organization’s focus on how it can perform its role better to provide an effective voice for its members throughout the country.

He adds the induction was crucial in highlighting the roles and responsibilities of each NEC member during their two-year term.

“Although the PEA had undergone some challenging times in recent years, with a new national leadership in place, there is a focus now on restoring credibility to the organisation, with an aim to grow the membership base in the long-term.

As part of the induction process, NEC members were given an overview of their roles and responsibilities from various government agencies, including the Industrial Registrar, and the Ombudsman Commission.”

What has been learnt will be used as a guide in their conduct and discussions, beginning with the first Quarterly meeting, which begins April 5th.
