Arrests Made Over Racist Sign at Vision City

A sign put up at the Vision City shopping mall has sparked outrage by Papua New Guineans.

The sign which read strictly for expatriates staff only caught a shoppers attention, and she quickly took the photo which is now in circulation throughout the internet.
 

Papua New Guineans are alleging it is plain simple racism in its rawest sense.

 

One person was quoted as saying…. “O arise all you sons of this land… let us fight this evil in our land. We have never been openly segregated and discriminated. Who are these people to come to our country?”  

 

Owners of the IPA certified company, Retail Food Junction, Mr. Aaron Sia, the Shop Manager, a Malaysian National and Ms. April Ferre, the Assistant Shop Manager and Phillipines national, were both arrested this morning and taken to the Hohola Police Station for questioning. The arrests were made on the advice of the NCDC. Ms. Ferre is beleived to be the person responsible for the sign.
