Reviving Central City Project

Governor of Central Province Kila Haoda is determined to bring a city tothe people of Central Province.

Withthe formation ofthe Central City Steering Committee, made up of members of ParliamentoMr. Haoda said an Advisory Bady has already been set up asthe “think-tank” of all Central Province projects.

He saidthe Central City Project has been discussed and is onthe right path.

The Central City Project has not been entirely forgotten.

Governor Haoda said at a recent media conference thatthe Central City’steering committee has talked to a number of investors to revivethe project once again.

Negotiations are ongoing and oncethey are settled andthe land is securedthe Central City Project will mover forward.

Previous attempts atthe Project were left hanging andthe sight ofthe proposed Central City at Beutama onthe Mahgi Highway remains more or less a ghost town.

A handful of houses among over grown thick grass can be seen fromthe main road, andthe beatutiful roads and lone sign board arethe only things that remain from past attempts atthe city.

Also underthe Central advisory body are specific managers ofthe various projects undertaken bythe province such asthe rice projects andthe tapioca project.

The advisory body will supervise allthese projects to ensuretheir success.
