SBeC Opens New Office

The Small Business Development Corporation openedtheir new office extension yesterday.

 

The building was constructed in five weeks, at a cost of four hundred thousand kina.

Jurudaya Constructions Limited started work immediately upon a deposit of 10 percent.

 

The Small Business Development Corporation or SBeC is one ofthe key drivers ofthe growth ofthe private and SME’sector in PNG

 

The SBeC initiative promoted bythe Government to change its name to SME Corporation was one ofthe reasons for the building extension.

 

Also present to withnessthe opening was Minister for Finance, James Marape, andtheInternational Labour Organization Director for Asia and Pacific Region, Yoshiteru Uramoto.

 

SBeC Acting Managing Director, Henry Marasembi was proud ofthe accomplishmentoand thankedthe Government for its support.

 

Asthe Government’s main driver in implementingthe Government’s policies in promoting informal economy in PNG the new spacious building will provide a good working environment for employees.

 

Ministerspoke onthe Government’s position regardingthe SME.

 

Beforethe cutting ofthe ribbon to officially openthe building, Mr Uramoto encouragedthe young people who werethere.
