Schoolboys successful

The National Elite Schoolboys Rugby League returned home with pride after a successful international tour.

Some ofthe players’ efforts were counted bythe Australian Talent Scouts and will be no surprise for them to secure scholarships.

The under 16 boys won’two matches from allotted 4. They defeated Ipswich High 22-6 and Redcliff onthe same note.

PNGNRL Foundation was overwhelmed withthe boys behaviour, attitude and discipline both on and off field.

Likewisethe under 18 boys won 3 out oftheir 4 matches.  They thrashed St Be ndans 62-12 so as Ipswich High 26-6. Queensland basePNG U19 went down also 36-14.

These victories broughtthe schoolboys into spotlight and one player will now sign a contract soon while thers were noted bythe Australian Talent Scouts.

Meantime, Tassell condemned media reports on criticism made onthe Kumuls training camp for the world cup challenge.
