Simbu Robbery Suspects Apprehended

Three suspects involved in a day light robbery in Simbu province, have been apprehended by police and locked behind bars.

Provincial Police Commander, Albert Beli, told EMTV News this afternoon from Simbu, that the suspects armed with bush knives, attacked officers of the Sika Supermarket and stole hard cash of K110,000.

The money is belived to be the takings, which were to be deposited into the bank.

Reports reaching the police indicated that as soon as the officers walked out of their office towards their vehicle, three youths waiting with bush knives hit the officer’s arm, who carried the bag of money.

“The officer’s arm was cut, that resulted on the bag falling off to the ground, that was later picked up by the robbers,” Beli said.

However, with the assistance of the public, information leading towards the robbery was shared, providing police the ability to intervene and apprehend the three suspects.

The suspects are now locked behind bars, as investigations are continuing.
