Special OlympicPNG athletes were out having fun in a one day coaching clinic atthe Sir John Guise Stadium overthe weekend.
It was a happy moment for some parents who were new tothe program.
It was a fun filled day for this special people with parents and coaches. The program termed ‘Come out and try’ aimed to get athletes andtheir parents to involve in sporting activities with coaches.
The program started with only with one athlete three months ago but now it has 20.
Special Olympics President Takale Tuna said this isthe start ofthe program and next monththey will havethe ‘Family Program’. That’s basically getting families and guardians with people with disabilities to come out and take part.
Special OlympicPNG have a busy schedule ahead however preparation is underway for the September mini games in Port Moresby beforethe Asia Pacific Regional games to be held in Australia.
