Supporting Performing Arts: Parkop Launches Program

Young talented, creative and performing artists will now have an avenue to expose and enhance their talents.

National Capital District Governor, Powes Pakop. yesterday launched a new program to support the performing arts sector here in the Nation’s Capital and the country.

From the program, talented Arts and Music artist can come forward and show their talent.

The program will officially start on Saturday at the International Education Agency (IEA) College field at Ela Beach here in the Nation’s Capital where inspiring artists will perform their various talents.

The program is an initiative of the NCD governor.

The governor said there are a lot of talented artists out there but there was no avenue for them to expose and enhance their talent.

He said over the years more emphasis has been placed on other areas like sports but they haven’t really looked to improve the Arts sector.

He funded the program under his DISP funds and said from the program, they will promote and expose our artists so that business houses can use their gifts for marketing and advertising purposes or even for the purpose of exporting them.

The program will run for four weeks with open performance starting tomorrow and a grand finale will be held at Jack Pidik Park.

Fees collected from the gate will be given to the performing artist.
