Triathlon: Casmer Kamangip To Representtt Oceania in Portugal

18 year old, Casmer Kamangip from Angoram inthe East Sepik Province will representthe Oceania Region, atthe Under 23World Training Camp in Portugal.

Casmer Kamangip, is a product ofthe Sepik Iron Man contestoandthe only athlete fromthe Oceania region.

 

After a successful Pacific Islands Cycling Championships overthe weekend,thPNG Triathlon team and executives appeared in high spirits.

 

PNG finished with an impressive score of 37, followed by Guam with 15, Fiji with 9, and Solomon Islands on 3.

 

It isthe aim ofthPNG Triathlon Association to produce more champions such as Rachel Sapery James who took out 3 gold medals inthe Olympic Distance event.

 

Another notable athlete Susie Pini took home her fair share of spoils inthe Sprint Distance category.

 

A team ofPNG triathlon athletes will also participate attheWorld Championships to be staged in London fromthe 11th tothe 16th of September.

 

Allthese can now be possible withthe assistance ofthe Sport Ministry with one hundred thousand Kina.

 

Casmer will jointhe rest ofthPNG Triathlon team in London to compete attheWorld Championships as well.
