YWAM: Donation to Boost Students Access to Telecommunication Services

Following last week’s launching of its Foundation Donation Box, Telikom Foundation has donated set of items to the Youth with a Mission or YWAM for its new YWAM educational training centre in Alotau, Milne Bay Province.

This set of items includes (i) 5x sim cards (ii) 5x K100 Prepaid cards (iii)2x Smartphone valued at K450 each and (iv) LTE B315 CPE Router.

With the Foundations mission to transform the lives of children in Papua New Guinea by promoting literacy using ICT enabled solutions, this set of items, will help assist the students have better access to Telikom’s telecommunication services.

YWAM is among other recipients benefiting from the donations made by Telikom Foundation. Other beneficiaries include schools from East and West New Britain, New Ireland, Autonomous Region of Bougainville, East Sepik, Morobe, Western, Eastern and Southern Highlands, NCD, Central, Gulf and Milne Bay Provinces.

One of the concepts implemented in the schools is the Clean IT concept.

From what is seen today, technology is important, and the Foundation is committed to supporting more schools in the country by providing avenues to help students have better access to the internet.

The presentation was warmly received by YWAM MSA Jeana Wiemeyer and Melissa Kauk.
