Ignoring Traffic Lights Causes Car Accident in Port Moresby

A man and other two passengers are lucky to be alive following a car accident this morning in Port Moresby.

Eyewitnesses say the small car was travelling at high speed, before crashing into another vehicle.

Police at the scene say ignorance has almost cost the lives of the driver and the other two passengers who were children.

The two children received no injuries, despite the car being badly damaged.

Members of the public at the crash scene say the accident is just one of the many where drivers ignore the traffic lights.

The accident happened after 8am yesterday morning at the Vision City Traffic intersection.

The driver of the grey car was reluctant to talk to EMTV news.

Police say the vehicle was also unregistered.

Traffic Police are investigating the incident.
