By Jaylee Sapias – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

The Port Moresby Mixed Netball corporate grand final witnessed a tough encounter between IRC and Veupunama, yesterday, at the Rita Flynn Netball Courts.

The competition, which began three weeks ago, with a total of 36 teams, saw different business houses in Port Moresby battle it out each Saturday in the month of November, for the grand prize of K1,000.

IRC remained strong throughout the competition but Veupunama proved they were too good by finishing as the winners of the first coperate mixed netball competition.

President of the Port Moresby Netball Association, Roy Mulina, said Veupunama remained a stand out team since round 1, winning 12 games out of 13, and that they deserved the win.

They bagged K1,000 while runners up IRC took home K800.

The tournament will allow Port Moresby Netball Association to select players for next season, which starts in February next year.
